Paweł Paszta


Paweł Paszta is a director and teacher. In the period of 2003-2008, he was a student at the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology, and between 2007 and 2012, he studied at the Directing Department, National Academy of Dramatic Art (diploma with honours, 2012, performance entitled Maids). So far, he has directed performances at such theatres as the Norwid Theatre in Jelenia Góra (Love and Politics), Entertainment Theatre in Chorzów (musical In Black and White), Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin (Vacant Space), Horzyca Theatre in Toruń (The Writing, among other performances), as well as numerous performances at the Jewish Theatre in Warsaw (e.g. Koszałki opałki, Stories Not Only For Children, The Kingdom of Omnibath). For Stories Not Only For Children he wrote his original music for the cello, which is played live during the performance by Aleksandra Monkiewicz. His Dziady–Widma [Phantoms] have been recorded by TVP Wrocław (broadcast by TVP Wrocław and TVP Kultura in autumn of 2012). He is also a teacher (authorised by the Ministry of National Education MEN) and works at the National Józef Elsner School, Vocal Department; since 2013 he has also worked as assistant at the Directing Department at the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw for classes as part of a directing seminar and the so-called Opera Institute. Since September 2017, he has held the function of vice-head for artistic affairs at the Wilem Horzyca Theatre in Toruń.
